so there's this condition called restless leg syndrome, that has been described on the mirapex website as follows... maybe you've seen the mirapex commercial... it's this little green and yellow stick type figure walking around, lying in bed, watching tv and then floating all around the screen, doing various things. forget for a moment the weirdness of the syndrome, because apparently millions of people have it, and who the hell am i to judge other people who are suffering. what i have been curious about or confused about, is the list of potential side effects of the drug... if you've seen the commercial, then you know what i'm about to tell you.
on the commercial, the list of side effects starts out pretty standard... "nausea, headache, tiredness, dizziness." they even tell you not to drive a car because you may fall asleep at the wheel. then it gets to the end, where the voiceover says, "tell your doctor if you've experienced increased gambling, sexual, or other intense urges." and that's the point where i shit a brick every time.
imagine... a drug whose side effects make you horny and give you the urge to hit up a craps table or perhaps some roulette. i'm left wondering how i can meet the women who are on this drug. huh?
joking aside, i checked online to see if i could find some more information and sure enough, there's pending litigation by robins, kaplan, miller & ciresi l.l.p. where they have filed over 58 mirapex gambling lawsuits in federal court on behalf of clients who developed a compulsive gambling disorder while on mirapex. is this insane or what?
i was unable to locate any information regarding litigation involving intense sexual urges... googling 'horny women on mirapex', provided no results.
