back
i woke up this morning in a confused state. you know that you've been away from home a long time, when you wake up in your own room, look around for 10 seconds, and have no idea where the hell you are. i seriously thought i was in a hotel room in greece.
when i arrived home last night, the first thing i did was put in a load of laundry. all in all, in 1 month, i was able to wash clothes about 3 times (once by hand), and i never washed the shorts.
i uploaded my pictures to my hard drive, which took multiple hours. i can't imagine how many hours it will take to get them onto a website for sharing.
now i'm just trying to decompress. my head is still swimming with thoughts of city after city. moment after moment.
there will be no fresh bread and cheese in the kitchen when i go down there. no hard boiled eggs or nutella. no coffee machine and fresh squeezed juice. no strange looking lunchmeats or tiny packages of marmalade. the continental breakfast is gone... because i'm on a different continent.
i won't be reading a map today. i won't be waiting for my turn in the shower. i won't be checking to see if my camera has enough batteries. i won't be worrying about how much clean underwear i have.
i won't be thinking about how much time i have left in europe. because time's up.
i'm back.
