she picked up a yogi at midway

that's right. i said it. a yogi.

so today i got to see my longtime high school friend bethie rae fuller, who i haven't seen in like seven years. she made it a point to let me know that we haven't exchanged emails in like three years either. so we got a chance to catch up and talk about old and new times, and even discovered a sushi joint, hidden in some dilapidated strip mall off of golf road. sushi two days in a row... it's a sickness.

so i come to find out that beth has been a vegetarian for a couple of years and has also been practicing yoga when she can. as it turns out, this place that she has been going to locally, has some special guest yogi hosting a workshop this weekend! the best part of it is... they asked beth to pick this dude up at midway airport! what the fuck!?! crazy! better yet, she did it! i think they're giving her a free class...

really, it's probably not as big a deal as i'm making it out to be. it's not like i know any yogies (is that the right plural form?) myself, so i'm sure the dude is fine. it's just kind of interesting that the yoga place asked one of their students to pick up a special guest. perhaps a limo would have been appropriate transport?

but alas, that is the nature of bethie rae... always getting herself into crazy situations, and always giving me good stories to listen to. the best part is that this yogi was going to arrive late, so we had to go to the health food store (he's vegan) to pick up: a bar of dark chocolate (at least 70% dark... huh?), organic lemonade, and an organic apple. beth tells me that most organic apples have bugs in them... because they don't use pesticides. beth even bought this guy some seaweed salad from the sushi place, but upon further examination, it contained fish eggs used as garnish, a vegan no-no... so she would have to take it home for the parents.

good news is, bethie rae is back in illinois for good, so she'll have many more stories coming.

beth has been in several locations in the past few years... new york, california, and most recently north carolina. unhappy with her work, she decided to take some time off and move home.

the yoga she's getting into now emphasizes alignment. i'm not sure what the name if it is.

maybe someday i will take yoga... i hear you, chris, and chuck are all into it. we'll see.
