damn. i haven't blogged all weekend... must be a sign of a busy social schedule.
or maybe i was just lazy.
i'll opt for a combo of the two. here's a recap.
thursday night
the night began kind of late. chuck, dave, roy, and i went over to the lava lounge to catch a couple drinks. dave actually wanted to get a "special" muffin from the strange old woman who shows up every now and then. i tried one a week prior, so i knew that they were legit. she's a slick one, the muffin lady. she has a basket of baked goods, but when you pay her, she reaches into her mysterious purse for the plastic wrapped pastry.
anyways, we left too early to see her (12:00am), but we had a great conversation about relationships (particularly dave's) and religion. ah, what a bunch of nerds.
friday night
most of the kids went to mia francesca's to eat savory italian and discuss chris's big news. the news? chris is planning to buy a condo in the heart of downtown chicago, relinquishing his suburbanite title.
chuck and i went to cafe ba-ba-ree-ba for jason's birthday dinner. pauly and fatima showed up just as we were seated and we ate like kings.
we ended the night at bar three, where dave and roy ended up joining us. highlight... we played who would you rather, with some really strange and hilarious combinations, including:
tipper gore -OR- hilary clinton
janet jackson and janet reno (and you must perform orally on janet reno) -OR- oprah winphrey
all the golden girls -OR- janet reno
needless to say, we were all laughing to the point of hysteria... a true moment of joy and pain.
saturday night
i ended up crashing in the city and chuck and i went for a late lunch at mitchell's. the gyro and feta omelette with tomatoes is still a heavy favorite of mine. we decided to watch the indie film "better luck tomorrow" at the gene siskel theater and it turned out to be a great experience. the cast and the director were on hand for questions and we were able to get some autographs at the end of the night. being the dork that i am, i also bought a t-shirt. afterwards, we went to the lava lounge for a nightcap, and then made a quick jaunt to chinatown for some noodles at ha-mien. at about 3am, we realized that it was really 4am, but we stayed for food anyways. when i got home, my watch read 5:30am, but it was really 6:30am and i patted myself on the back for being out til the sun came up.
today
104 was cool. i actually got some shit done. and of course, 100 was a good time as well.
jamie told pam, in front of the whole class, that i was her inspiration. always nice to have a little ego boost every now and then.
also, i got a little bit closer to meeting mary... her friend leslie was in our group. ah, maybe one day i'll get a chance. sigh.
btw. rob van dam vs. undertaker was the best match i've seen on RAW in a long time.
