missed sunday by a couple of minutes. btw. why has the weather been so shitty?

saturday started off pretty lazy-like. i started moving around 1pm or so. did some laundry and got ready for winston's wedding reception in alsip. i drove down there a little late and walked in the hall right after the wedding party was announced.
jen and rj are always great conversation. dada is 20 freakin' years old already?!? the whole family looks great and it's great to be around some people i haven't seen in a long fucking time. little jennilyn is so cute, but that's not enough to get me to stay.
i was kinda hoping that there would be some cutie latinas walking around, but no such luck. how about some cutie filipinas? not really. so i decided to leave around 9pm so that i wouldn't miss more than half of the concert.

well, it turns out that i only missed oakenfold. but luckily, that wasn't the best part of triple crown. i got in about 30 minutes before the chemical brothers came on. dave had left a voicemail on my cell phone and i was able to locate him pretty easily. we spent most of the concert in the second level balcony, but it was right in the center with a great view.
the crowd was amazing... clubbers, ravers, guidos, punks, and all assorted miscrients. it was quite a scene. the energy was high, with fists and bodies pumping in unison. didn't see too many people fucked up on drugs, but there i'm sure they were there. i smelled weed all over the place, but didn't get a chance to partake.
it was a surreal experience and the vibes were running wild. many people crazy, yet many relaxed as well. there was some good dancing going on around us, but not too many glowsticks and assorted lighting accessories.
chemical brothers rocked the house... unexpectedly! sasha and digweed were pretty good as well, although i didn't get into the music until late in their set. the lighting and the visuals were pretty good, namely the lasers that seemed to trace clouds in the rafters.
during the last half of sasha and digweed, dave and i hopped the barrier and joined the kids on the floor. we looked for roy, mark, and jim, but we couldn't find them, so we stationed ourselves in front of the stage and danced until the djs ended the night.
on our way out, we ran into lisa and her crew and said some hellos. we also saw cameron and his buddies in the lobby. roy and mark wanted everyone to head to rednofive for the afterset, but dave, jim, and i declined out of pure exhaustion.

i got home at around 3:30am on sunday, but i didn't get to bed until 6:00am. argh! it was definitely an interesting night and quite an experience. can't wait until the triple crown hits this part of the country in the future.

so i didn't get up until 1pm again sunday afternoon. i think my sleeping habits need some serious adjustments. i slacked around, but then decided to go watch the 4:15p showing of the scorpion king. it wasn't too bad, but it was definitely no mummy returns. i think that they dummed down the storyline so that the younger kids could enjoy the movie. the action and choreography were okay, acting - so so, but the final explosive action sequence was pretty cool. eh, i give it a B-.
then chuck and i came back to my house to watch backlash, which pretty much sucked, except for brock lesnar. btw. hulk hogan is the new wwf champion as he has defeated triple h with a leg drop...

after the show, chuck left and i went to jewel to buy the divas swimsuit issue. am i fucked in the head or what?
